Missi naan recipe-
Ingredients:
1 cup wheat flour
1 cup chickpea flour (besan)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/4 teaspoon cumin powder
1/4 teaspoon coriander powder
1/4 teaspoon red chili powder (optional)
1/4 cup plain yogurt
1/4 cup water (or as needed)
2 tablespoons oil (plus more for brushing)
2 tablespoons chopped cilantro (optional)
Instructions recipe for missi naan:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the wheat flour, chickpea flour, salt, baking powder, sugar, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and red chili powder (if using). Mix well. Add the yogurt and oil to the dry ingredients and mix until crumbly. Gradually add water to the mixture and knead until a soft and smooth dough is formed. You may need more or less water depending on the consistency of the dough. Cover the dough and let it rest for about 15-20 minutes. Preheat a tawa or griddle over medium heat. Divide the dough into equal-sized balls. Roll out each ball into an oval shape, about 1/4 inch thick. Brush the top of each naan with a little bit of oil and sprinkle with chopped cilantro (if using). Place the naan, oiled-side down, on the hot tawa or griddle. Cook for 1-2 minutes or until bubbles start to form on the surface.Flip the naan over and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes on the other side, or until lightly browned. Remove the naan from the griddle and brush with a little bit of butter or ghee (optional). Repeat the process with the remaining naan.
