Crispy Lady Finger Pakodas
Crispy Bhindi Pakora, also known as Bhindi Pakora, is a popular Indian snack. These are made from ladyfinger, gram flour and spices and then deep fried until crisp. Bhindi Pakodas are a delicious and satisfying snack that is perfect for any occasion.
Material: Crispy Lady Finger Pakodas
- 1 pound okra, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 cup gram flour
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/4 tsp coriander powder
- 1/4 tsp garam masala powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup water
- oil for frying
Instruction: Crispy Lady Finger Pakodas
In a large bowl, mix okra, gram flour, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder and salt. mix well.
Add water and mix until the batter becomes smooth.
Heat oil in a large pot or deep fryer over medium heat.
Drop the batter into hot oil with a large spoon. Fry the pakodas until golden brown and crisp, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
Remove the Pakodas from the oil with a slotted spoon and drain on a paper towel.
Serve immediately with your favorite chutney or sauce.
Tips: Crispy Lady Finger Pakodas
For crispier batter, add one tablespoon of rice flour to the batter.
If the batter is too thick then add some more water.
If the batter is too thin then add some more gram flour.
Fry the pakodas in batches so that they do not overcrowd the pot.
Do not fill too much water in the vessel, this will reduce the temperature of the oil and the Pakodas will become wet.
Serve the Pakodas hot with your favorite chutney or sauce.
