Simple recipe for butter chicken-
Ingredients:
500g boneless chicken pieces
1 cup plain yogurt
1 tbsp ginger paste
1 tbsp garlic paste
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp cumin powder
Salt to taste
3 tbsp butter
1 onion, finely chopped
2 tomatoes, pureed
1 tsp garam masala
1/2 cup cream
Coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions butter chicken:
In a bowl, mix yogurt, ginger paste, garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, and salt. Add chicken pieces and marinate for at least 2 hours or overnight in the refrigerator. Preheat oven to 200°C. Place the marinated chicken pieces on a baking tray and bake for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through. In a pan, melt butter and add chopped onions. Sauté until the onions turn translucent. Add pureed tomatoes and garam masala to the pan. Cook until the tomatoes are soft and the mixture thickens. Add the baked chicken pieces to the pan and mix well. Stir in cream and let it simmer for 5-10 minutes until the gravy thickens. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with naan bread or rice.
